As many of us today, we picture our regular morning looking like hitting snooze on the early alarm, getting dressed with the clothes we had set out the night before or are ready and clean to button up. The coffee pot is almost ready, and we're finishing our last touches and making sure everything is ready to ensure a successful morning to go to work.

As we realize that there maybe some subtle differences of how we define our morning or day, and measure success by tasks and timelines, what we don't realize is the many of those who live it daily without the visual advantage.

According to the 2024 National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), 49.5 million American adults reported experiencing some difficulty seeing. Of these, 3.8 million report a lot of trouble seeing even when wearing glasses, and 420,000 cannot see at all.

Although the severity of blindness exists across a large spectrum, it doesn't discount the challenges of living a regular life, especially when it was least expected. Many Americans who live daily with such limitations require support and rehabilitation to help retake their life and learn to feel in control.

Since 1976, Lighthouse Works has redefined the lives of many through comprehensive vision rehabilitation, education, and employment services: A mission to empower those to live and thrive with opportunity, dignity, and purpose.

According to Lighthouse Work's 2024-2025 Impact Report, 323 individuals who are blind or visual impaired were employed and working up to 336,356 hours with a total number wages paid to those with visual impairments cumulatively being $4,274,361.

Flowstone Group's Reflection:

On the agnostic solution side: We feel honored that Lighthouse Works has trusted us with the involvement of evaluating the right solutions within their internal systems. Genesys as their new call center solution. Originally working through Skybox as the technical partner, not only made this process lead to success, but it also built meaningful relationships with those who believe in real progress.

We are proud to be a Bronze Sponsor for Lighthouse Works. Our relationship with them doesn't stop there, as CEO, Dave Ballesteros has served as a trusted member of their board since 2022.

“After getting to know the people at Lighthouse Works and visiting the operations, I am thoroughly impressed by the work they do and the jobs they offer to people who otherwise may not have such a rewarding opportunity in the workforce. I look forward to helping with the growth of this great organization.” - Dave Ballesteros

Our team can share with confidence, that the best partnerships aren't the ones that make business look good, rather they're the ones that make you proud of who you work with. Lighthouse Works is one of those.
